The Marlborough Tavern
Situated close to the Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern has been serving top quality food and drink to visitors and residents of Bath since the 18th century and was recently awarded its first AA Rosette. Chef Richard Knighting is in charge of the regularly changing menu which features classic British dishes made with the best local and seasonal produce. Our favourites include the pan-fried loin of venison with fidget pie; roast halibut with squash and cardamom puree; and fresh River Fowey mussels in a white wine and chervil sauce. The Marlborough Tavern also serves a range of local ales and ciders, as well as boasting a great wine list which includes some excellent rosés - perfect for sipping in their sunny terrace garden.

The Moon and Sixpence
Down an old cobbled passageway between Bath's Milsom and Broad Streets is The Moon and Sixpence, a lovely restaurant providing respite from the busy streets of this always busy city. Tranquil and refined, The Moon and Sixpence offers a range of spaces in which to enjoy food and drinks. In addition to the romance of the candlelit restaurant, The Moon and Sixpence offers a relaxed bar and café upstairs, known simply as 'The New Moon', serving casual food in a bright, buzzy atmosphere. Outside, a beautiful terrace is perfect for pre-dinner drinks of a summers evening while a bar space, dotted with comfortable sofas provides a cosy spot for cocktails. Having been a fixture on Bath's dining scene for around thirty years, The Moon and Sixpence is a little piece of local history, and as such it seems appropriate that here you'll enjoy Modern British cuisine made with locally sourced produce. However, in keeping with Bath's increasingly cosmopolitan feel you'll also experience international dishes given a local twist.

The Olive Tree
In its eight years, the Olive Tree Restaurant in the Queensberry Hotel has gained local popularity and national renown as one of the premiere dining places in Bath. The hotel is a stylish contemporary boutique hotel, but the restaurant is an oasis of calm modernity, with excellent British food served with a great attention to detail in relaxed, informal surroundings. Menu changes frequently. Recent hits include starter of grilled fillet of red mullet with pumpkin and cardamon risotto, and main course of grilled loin of marinated venison with celeriac and spiced pears. Your mobile can't get a signal here, so you may as well relax and have a pudding -- pre order the hot chocolate mint soufflé.

The Wheatsheaf
Named as a 'Rising Star' in the Michelin Guide 2008, The Wheatsheaf in Combe Hay - only 15 minutes from the centre of Bath – is hotly tipped to become one of the south west's top dining destinations. This award-winning restaurant overlooks the village of Combe Hay which is nestled at the southern tip of the Cotswalds, and was recently voted as one of The Times top 20 villages to live in. It goes without saying the food at The Wheatsheaf is spectacular. Vellore
Without question, the Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel is one of the finest retreats in Somerset and gourmet travellers adore its private landscaped gardens, luxury spa and award-winning restaurant. The Vellore dining room is located in this historic hotel’s former ballroom, and its grand ceilings and elegant cream colour scheme make this one of the most sought after dining destinations in town. Awarded 2 AA rosettes, the Vellore also boasts a canopied terrace for summertime al fresco dining and is a popular spot for celebrations, weddings, afternoon tea parties and stylish business events. Yak Yeti Yak
If the name of this restaurant alone isn't enough to make you want to dine here, then we'll eat our Dhaka topi hats. However, in case you need any further incentive – we're delighted to say that this super-cosy establishment is superb. With whitewashed walls and brightly coloured hand-woven cushions, the Nepalese dining room at Yak Yeti Yak in Bath is warm, peaceful, and popular with a fresh-faced crowd who look like they climb mountains just for fun. While - as far as we can tell - there is no actual yeti on the menu, there are plenty of other star attractions such as the spicy beef stir-fried with onions, sweet peppers and tomatoes.
